Need suggestion for Verbal section

I knew that i never enjoyed the verbal section of any aptitude test !
Evidently, while preping for GMAT i suffered and still trying to recuperate !

Sentence correction is getting real better after i started referring MGMAT SC book.My hitting rate is 95% +.

But i dreaded RC followed by CR.
If i do correct ans for CR, then i can't pace up and end with time out !!

For RC , my hitting rate is just 50% and sometimes even less than that !!
So, pacing up and correctness are my two problem area/s in RC & CR.

My target score-750 (in fact the more the better..)

Material that i have :

-OG 10th edition
-KAPLAN 800
-MGMAT SC
-Verbal review (Official Guide)

Please suggest...

In terms of strategies for dealing with RC and CR, what have you primarily used so far? I'm not familiar with what's in your Kaplan 800 book, but the other books you have won't teach you how to do RC and CR. Does the Kaplan 800 book have strategies for reading the arguments / passages, finding the important info, recognizing the type of question, and using the appropriate strategy based on the type of question? (Or any other book that you have been using?)

If not, you're going to need to find a source that actually teaches you how to do these! Ask around here and look at Eric's resources section to see what you think might work best for you.

If you have been using something that teaches you these strategies, come back and tell us, and tell us what has worked for you and what hasn't worked for you. You're not terrible at ALL of RC and CR - you're just struggling with parts of it. You need to know which parts because the way you improve is tied to the specific things with which you're struggling! (And you need to know so you can tell us and we can make suggestions

)

You mention both accuracy level and pacing level, so the other thing you want to see is whether your accuracy is fine but your time is too high, vs your time is fine but your accuracy is low vs both accuracy and timing are problematic. Some of the things you have to do to get better are different depending upon whether the issue is accuracy or timing (or both).

So either figure out what source you want to use to teach you about RC and CR, or get the data on strengths and weaknesses based on your current source and let us know what that is!

Ok, i can admit that i haven't put same level of interest/practice or brush up with verbal portion.

Two books that i used are : Verbal Review(Official guide); Kaplan 800

I just started doing few of RCs and CRs from Verbal review (official guide) randomly and then started doing some from Kaplan 800.
Altogether i might have done about 10/15 RCs and about 40CRs.

But as i thought, thay are to be worked out the way, as i did, is the only way, i plunged myself to the pool of RC and CR and did like i said above !

Kaplan 800 has some real good explanaton that makes me understand the concepts.Similar to that of OG/Verbal Review.

But i never concentrated them to the level as i did on maths portion, because they never create such level of interest !

For CRs, i get ans. wrong for inference type questions.....
Pacing is a problem, i.e. with more time i get ans. correct.

For RCs, at times i would be getting all ans correct and at times all wrong !! It fluctuates a lot !!While reading the content, i am not able to note the subtlety of it...if i do that, i miss the pace of reading it !!
So, at the end , i find it messy and end up doing wrong ans.
RC is the portion where i spend max. time yet do max . wrong ans. !!
It is almost like reading it once, before answering the question/s and then reading it again and again in order to ans each question....then ending up with expending more time.

As a whole i have not practised them much.And this could be one of the major factors that is hindering to get considerable scores.
