Pippin must have had his right hand+arm crippled in the 1stWW before he started using right hand+left hand. Also the right arm must refer back to Pippin


A. wordy and awkward. uses having and being together as if the crippling was continuing when he used his left hand for painting. whose arm and hand? doesnt refer back to Pippin

B. uses "being" for a past event.

C. wordy. seems to say 1stWW crippled his arm

D. whose right arm and right hand? doesnt refer back to Pippin

E. correct IMO. His right arm..refers to refers to Pippin. uses the correct past tense "crippled" for a past event.

hence, E

guess, being can be used to denote present continuous tense in passive voice - the athlete is being trained for the olympics.
