(1) is not sufficient on its own, since one can derive various solutions for 3 sides.

(2) not syfficient.

Combining you tells us that it is a right angled triangle.

Again, it is not sufficient, since we can construct trinagles with different angles like 30,60,90, 45,45,90, leading to different areas. If it is maximum area, it must be isoscless right angled one.

E is the answer

IMO: E

a.) a^2 + b^2 = 22....insuff

b.) c^2 = 22==> c = sqrt(22)...insuff..

There is no way an area can be calculated with such incomplete info.
