Is ownership of the team the same as team's ownership?
ownership has two definitions:
1. the state of owning something
2. a group that owns something

Generally:
ownership of the team = the state of owning the team.
the team's ownership = the group that owns the team.
Another questions, is 'Peter's birthday' same as 'birthday of Peter'? Can 'Peter's birthday' means 'birthday belongs to Peter'?

Thanks in advance
While the meaning of the two colored phrases is the same -- each refers to the birthday attributed to Peter -- a native speaker would not use the phrase in red.
Generally, when referring to a person, we use the possessive form (Peter's) rather than an of-modifier (of Peter).
