From my experience, my practice scores were directly correlated with my actual score. For example, when I first took the exam my practice scores ranged from 570-620. My ultimate goal was 680+, but I thought that during the actual exam I would some how increase 60 points. Not sure what I was thinking, but it's happened to some people. It wasn't until my practice tests were between 680-740 that I was able to score a 700 on the actual exam. I guess you really have to assess how you are as a test taker and also factor in how nerves might affect you (either in a positive or negative way).

If I had to do it again, I would have waited until I my practice exams were consisitenly within the range that I wanted and saved the $250 on the additional exam.

Thanks for the post above, but can someone help me improve my verbal score?

On all my tests, my quant is a it sorted, i keep getting in the 49 - 51 range, but verbal really is going for a toss.

I can't move beyond the 35 - 38 range.

The thing is that with quant, i studied my mistakes and worked on them and improved.

But with verbal, i keep making the same mistakes again! i just can't seem to get it. I sometimes feel the answers are subjective. And i'm losing marks in all the 3 sections as well...

Not really sure how to improve my verbal.

FYI: i have pretty good English skills. my pronouns, modifiers, numbers, idiom etc are pretty strong as it is and i have improved them a bit more using study material, but i have still hit a wall in verbal...

pls help! need to get verbal up beyond 40 - 44 range.
