If a + b - c = d, and if a - b + c = e, then a =
(A) d + e
(B) 2 d + e
(C) ½ (d + e)
(D) 2 (d + e)
(E) d - e

a+b-c=d-->eqn1

a-b+c=e

a-(b-c)=e

From eqn1,b-c=d-a

a-(d-a)=e

a-d+a=e

a=(d+e)/2 or 1/2(d+e)

The line in bold could confuse many, as this is mathematically not same as
