I was working on a DS problem of integers from OG11 which led me to find answers for below cases, would appreciate if you could let me know if what i m thinking is correct: (the DS question in OG was easier as it was mentioned r & s are integers)
condition given: s & r are positive & s>r...... so will the value of s-r be sufficient for all 3 cases below to find the number of integers between s & r (excluding r &s)
1. if r & s are integers:..... then the no. of integers between r & s not included is given by s-r-1 ...... IMO knowing s-r is sufficient
2. if r & s are decimal nos/fractions .........then the no. of integers between r & s not included is given by s-r (neglecting the decimal digits of the no. say is s-r =10.3 then the number of integers between them is 10) ....IMO knowing s-r sufficient
3. if r is a decimal no. and s is an integer then ........the no. of integers between r & s not included is given by s-r again neglecting the digits after decimal. .....IMO knowing s-r sufficient
is this correct? So can we say knowing the value of s-r will be sufficient no matter whether s & r are integers or fractions?
