" persistent" in the underlined statement needs to be parallel with " So dogged". Only option E has that...

David said it is an unusual question and some of my doubts are still uncleared in this question as u can see in that post....i can't forget this question...i wish such Q will not appear in GMAT...

The people who suggest a parallelism thing in OA should consider that they are talking about parallelism b/w a clause and a phrase......just think, is that really needed...a parallelism b/w a phrase and a clause...

Atul....too lazy to look around for your previous post (long day at work + this damned sentence correction) so would prefer to discuss here....

Without going into technicalities, the sentence starts with " So" and therefore we are looking for a " So....that" formation. Anything without this formation will sound wrong for this question....

Only options C and E have this formation. In C, " So dogged were Francis Perkins' investigations of the garment industry, her lobbying for wage and hour reform persistent, that....." is grammatically incorrect. Though Option E isnt the best option there is, others are blatantly wrong...

The part in Bold is important....and i understand Op E is the only best Op
my point was related to technical issue...and i still believe that if someone pick Op E because of parallelism (so + clause , so + phrase) then that's not correct...

So...THAT...parallelism is good and important--> no issue with that.

"so persistent her lobbying"
may be there is ellipsis here , but we should certainly confirm with the experts.

so persistent WAS her lobbying

guys sorry to beak through the discussion in this thread, BUT i think (my view) NOTHING is unusual here, except for missing part/word in the sentence ('of' part). There is only one pattern here 'So ... That', and no parallelism is involved. The issue is that we are having two 'so' one for the cause -effect 'So ... That' and one for the emphasized meaning 'so'='very' -> So dogged were Frances Perkin's investigations of the garment industry, very (so) persistent of her lobbying for wage and hour reform, that ...
