Michael Guttman

Michael Guttman earned both his BBA and his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he was also a career counselor, and brings roughly a decade of finance and financial services recruiting experience to his role at mbaMission. His eight years with Deloitte in New York City bookend his Ross experience, giving him insight into the MBA journey before acceptance as well as after graduation. He initially worked in Deloitte’s transactions group, where he modeled cash flows, ran analytics, and performed document review for potential investors, and after Ross, he was promoted to Manager level and served as leader of an internal recruiting team. After leaving Deloitte, Michael spent two years in a strategy role for an online retailer.

Although Michael held several leadership positions while in business school, he was most passionate about his role as a career counselor for his peers, performing resume reviews and helping them shape their personal story and goal statements in preparation for crucial interviews. His desire to work directly with individuals while leveraging his finance background and passion for career development inspired him to become a full cycle recruiter in the financial services industry before joining mbaMission. Michael enjoys helping his clients create strong and compelling applications that emphasize the uniqueness of their stories.
