Julie-Anne Heafey
mbaMission - Senior ConsultantBefore acquiring her MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS), Julie-Anne Heafey scored so well on the GMAT that she was inspired to become a tutor, a role that led to corporate sessions with prominent investment banks and introduced her to MBA admissions counseling. While at HBS, she served as co-president of the Womens Student Association and collaborated with the admissions committee on attracting women applicants to the program. Julie-Anne was also involved with the admissions department at Dartmouth College, her undergrad alma mater, leading tours and information sessions, and has now been an alumna interviewer for the school for almost two decades, engaging with applicants in New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
With a professional career that spans finance, consulting, and technology, Julie-Anne initially focused on strategy consulting with the Parthenon Group in Boston before branching out as a freelance consultant to businesses in financial services, health care, software, retail, and social impact in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Her pre-MBA career in finance took her to France via an internship with the CFO of a large steel company through the École Polytechnique. At Salomon Smith Barney, she wrote call notes, company reports, and industry overviews as part of an equity research team. Seeing how technology was transforming the industry inspired her to transition to the firms fledgling Internet group, which was tasked with developing the companys first website and online services. There she discovered her passion for strategy and marketing. Julie-Anne now brings all she has gained from these experiences together to help her mbaMission clients position themselves for success in the competitive application process.
