How to figure out which MBA program is best for you

by ARINGO, Feb 20, 2019

The perfect business school is entirely subjective. You can do a lot of research on MBA programs according to rankings, salaries, GMAT, on the ARINGO MBA Admissions Consultants website.

Factors that could determine a good fit could be the students long-term career goals and the specialization that interests them. Location and financials are also both factors that must be taken into consideration.

There are a wide range of program types, if a full-time program isnt suitable. Accelerated, one year and online programs could all be possibilities. A fairly new format that some universities are adopting is a program that they call a blended MBA. A blended MBA combines the convenience of online classes and traditional classroom learning. Students participate in online classes in real-time in virtual classrooms. Students and teachers can interact via the platform. Students can still gain practical skills that one would typically only gain from interaction with group members, from the virtual classroom, such as collaboration, teamwork and communication skills. Blended MBA programs are designed for working professionals who might not be able to leave their job whilst committed to receiving an MBA degree.

Do lots of research, most universities have very clear, user-friendly websites which could offer all the information you may need. You can also read about MBA program specializations on the ARINGO MBA Admissions Consultants website. Most websites also offer a phone number or email to contact them with any questions. However, if you have the time and the resources, visiting the universities themselves can offer a great deal of information. Speaking to other students, having access to people who have first-hand experience with the program, may help you decide if the program is right for you.

Plan ahead. You must look at your career goals and try to picture where you want to be 3-7 years after your graduation. Use this as a guide when exploring different specializations and schools. Most MBA programs prefer candidates with a bare minimum of two years work experience, although three to five years is recommended. Work experience is a great way of figuring out what you want, or what you dont want. It is okay if you find out that a field you were once passionate about, isnt quite right for you. You may even stumble upon a field that wasnt in your original plan, but suits you more.

If financials are a concern for you, you might want to check out what financial aid the school offers, before ruling out the prospect of the school. Almost every school offers scholarships and loans. Hopefully these tips should help bring you closer to making a decision, or narrow your list of possible prospective schools.
