New to this forum and still not set on whether or not the MBA path is right for me but figured I'd get a jump start and put things in perspective.

Undergrad GPA: 3.4 from Ivy - Physical Science major with many quantitative courses. Significant upward trend in grades (sophomore year ~2.8, senior year near 4.0)

Hispanic, First Generation - will be looking to apply through Consortium/MLT

Work Experience & Goals: First experience was in a consulting internship in the commodities space. Currently, I've been working at a BB in S&T (Trading)for a few months and would like to stay in finance for a bit but ultimately my 'dream job' would most likely be working with business school students or working in admissions at a biz school (no idea why - but this is what I think I want to do. I am so jealous of Dee Leopold it's not even funny...)

GMAT - will be taking in a couple of months, practice tests show low 700s. Target is 730+

ECs - involved in diversity recruitment at BB; also involved in mentor-ship program with minority and low-income high school students to aid with college apps and success in college.

Potential Schools - I'd really like to stay in NYC... definitely the northeast.

Columbia
NYU (part-time sounds attractive)
HBS
Wharton
Sloan
Yale SOM
Johnson

Let me know what else I can do to help my chances and when is the optimal time to apply. I'm prepping for the test now since I'm still relatively new (aka worthless) at work and don't have much responsibility. Would like to enroll by mid 20's...

Thanks![/list]
