Evaluation

by BrickThrower » Tue Jul 22, 2008 8:56 am
Hi. I'm 21 years young and about to enter my senior year of undergrad. i have 5 years of part time work experience, which includes 3 internships for successful companies (0 full time, rough I know). I got a 640 on my GMAT, and a 3.3 GPA. I'm looking at schools like Rutgers and Fordham (where I attend undergrad). Am I living off a prayer or do I have a realistic shot? Also, are there any other universities in the metro area you'd suggest? Thanks in advance.

Dear BrickThrower,

Are you planning to apply now to enter straight from your undergraduate program? Based on your question, I assumed that is the case but hate to assume as I want to give you the best answer. If that is the case, then the best way to evaluate your chances is to research how many folks they take directly from undergraduate programs and determine how you stack up to that specific population. I think you will find the admissions staff to be quite helpful if you contact them directly regarding what they look for in candidates wishing to go straight into business school. Many schools accept applications from college seniors, but hold them to a different standard in order to admit.

Good luck,
Lisa
