MBA or EMBA OR MS ??? which is better

Which is the best thing to opt for a candidate who has got 6 years of experience in HR and operations.Pls suggest.

Theres no easy hands down answer.. it depends on a lot more... WHICH programs.. what your goals are... how old you are... whether you can afford to take time off etc...

Choosing between these two degrees depends upon why you want to pursue either of these degrees in first place. The degree Master of Business Administration is not the same as Master of Science. The MBA is a general broad degree covering a wide variety of business issues and training students for careers in managing any area of business. The MS is a degree that concentrates study in a specific field, such as finance, accounting, taxation etc and trains students for careers in high level staff positions often involving research. So MS degree would provide you focused and concentrated information and MBA would be having wider subject range and you would study subjects regarding management also apart from accountancy or tax.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. It would be great if you could help me on this.I currently have 6+ yrs of experience in HR-recruitment and operations. But am not sure as to which course to select. My areas of interest are HR management, project management.Confused whether to take MBA or Msc on these areas. And as well am interested in International Business as well. What is the difference between MBA and MIB.Pls help. how do I find ,as which one is the best course for me??

You could reasonably address those interests in either program, but what are your GOALS? What do you want to do afterwards? Are you more into management? Or do you prefer the more technical side of things.

If you want to concentrate on HR and Operations, then an MBA with a related major would work for you. As far as MIB is concerned, it has a broader scope than MBA, and focuses mainly on the relations, culture, and environment of international business. Most MIB programs also require a student to know a foreign language. Do the course which interests you more. If you are leaning towards MBA, read a few Stevens-Henager reviews - the college offers an MBA program designed to help students face the current job market. Look for colleges in your area that offer such degrees. Online may be a good option, too. Always look for accreditation and enroll in a college only if you are satisfied with the faculty, staff and campus life.
