HBSGuru (Cambridge Essay Service) Reviews

by armyoftim » Tue Sep 28, 2010 9:39 pm
I'm posting this in here because I want to here from applicants or clients who have used HBSGuru - has anyone here used his consulting service (Cambridge Essay Service)? His actual name is Sanford Kriesberg, and Poets & Quants wrote a couple articles about him recently that I found very interesting. I found myself researching this guy quite a bit after reading those articles, and I wanted to reach out to others in this community to what people would like to share about him. He's quite controversial, but I've found the info that he has put out there to be helpful and unique (albeit irreverent at times).

If you have used HBSGuru, or at least had an initial consultation - please respond with information that answers the following:
1) Were you a paying customer, or did you only do the consult?
2) Were/Are you satisfied with his services?
3) What was moist helpful about the service, what was least helpful?
4) I am not applying to Harvard or Stanford - has anyone used his service for Booth or Kellogg?

Can anyone provide a review of Sanford K's service?

Full Disclosure - armyoftim is me, but I had to use another username for this facebook thing... or maybe I did it wrong.

This post has been dead for 4 years!
Anyways. I used Sandy's free service and that too pretty close to HBS's 1st deadline. And he responded back in few hours!
Well he was short. Response was in bullets. According to him my candidacy was 'iffy'. Though I don't very much agree with him, but his response did make me think about my candidacy to HBS. Why? Clearly, if that guy thinks not good about it than I certainly need to work upon to make it at least neutral in his eyes...
I do plan to work with him in near R2. So, would try to update my experience here.
