Self Study for GMAT - what books to use?

Hi,

I am from India and I have just started my preparation for GMAT. I am planning to take it either in the last week of May or before June 15th 2012.

I am planning to do a self study and I need to start from the basics.

Can you please guide me on :

a) Which are the best books that will help me with the self study.
b) Which books should I start with first - to get a grasp on the concepts and fundamentals.
c) How should I prepare for the " Integrated Reasoning " section that will get introduced in June 2012.

Would be very helpful if you can help me with a step by step approach on the books that I need to use with my self study plans.

well if you take it before June 5th you don't have to take the integrated reasoning section. Since your planning on either taking it before or 2 weeks later, I would forsure take it before June 5th, 2 weeks isin't going to make the difference in your score. Also, it's just another section you'll have to prepare for; not sure why anyone would want to take it with integrated reasoning. Also, since it is brand new, there are very few resources that can actually help your prepare for that section. I would book the test date now, though. The manhattan Gmat 8 guides seems like the overall best books for the basics, especially SC. Good Luck
