Your GMAT score is marginally below those for the top UK schools - Said, Judge, LBS - but well within range for schools such as Cranfield. I find the best sources for research on European schools are the London Financial Times and topmba.com. I suggest you clearly define your goals and your educational needs and then match those to the curricula of the various schools. The better the match between your needs and their program, the better your chances of appealing to the admissions committee. You will be competing against thousands of Indian-educated IT professionals so you will need a strong set of application essays and references as well as your GMAT and academic record. An experienced admissions consultant can help you put together a persuasive application.

The best way to start is to learn as much about what an MBA is and what the schools are like. The London Financial Times does a great job of ranking international schools. Topmba.com also has good international coverage. Your choice should be based on much more than just rankings. You need to understand why you are going to business school and what you want to study and why. Then you research the schools to see which ones have a curriculum that will give you what you need. You can also look at what fields the graduates of each school go into or even what companies they work for.

Good business schools are very competitive and they are looking for individuals who know what they want out of school and how it relates to their education and work experience. A list of "good" schools will be different for each individual.

There are several good books about the application process. I always recommend Richard Montauk's "How to Get into the Top MBA Programs". It is available from almost any online book store. It gives excellent advice about choosing schools and building an application based on input from admissions directors at top schools.
