GMAT 650 10 years IT work ex

I appeared for my GMAT today and got a score of just 650. Q45/V35.

Profile:
Age 32.
Exp: 10 years in IT (Indian)
- 4 years as individual contributor
- 4 years as a lead
- 2 years managing a team of 21 (largest team in my business unit)

International exposure: Limited. Have made work-related trips to US a couple of times.

Education: B. Engg. Telecommunications. GPA: Not sure. Concept not clear yet. 62% overall.

Ex Cur: Associated with a social movement.

Target:
Rotman
Queen's
Schulich
Kellogs (long shot)

Requesting a profile evaluation and advise on how to best present my profile.

Hi Anuj,

The 3 Canadian schools mentioned above are within your reach with the profile and GMAT score you have.

Kellogg looks a bit tough because of your GMAT score.

Focus on your team lead/ management experience and learning from leading a big team. Add to that few initiatives you have taken at the workplace. Talk about client interaction ( i am assuming you must have been involved with clients on regular basis).

Your essays should also indicate consistent career progression and increase in responsibilities.

Last bit: Make sure that your profile is not unidimensional. Talk about your extra currics or something which lets the B school know the different side of Anuj.

I think the most important thing you can do in your strategy is to present yourself as a LEADER (who happens to be in Tech) rather than a Tech guy who happens to lead.
Then, be passionate, do what you can to tell them one super unique story they have never heard from anyone, and stand out from the crowd.
