Hi,
I am an MBA applicant for fall 2011 from Pakistan
I will have by Fall 2011 - 3 years work experience
My work experience is in two of the most prestigious foreign banks in Pakistan.
I am currently working in Commercial/Corporate Banking as an associate. I have had around 9 months experience so far in my current job.
My GPA is 3.1
My GMAT is 700
My short term career goals are to move in Commodity Trading firms like Glencore, Cargill & LD
My long term goal is to set up my own firm trading commodities like cotton & rice. My family is also involved in the processing and growing of certain commodities and I have had the chance to study and understand that.
My medium and long term goal also entails being involved in social development causes and have a few plans in the pipeline which at some point in my life I do want to see realized.
However my goals are not inflexible. I want my MBA experience to also shape-up my decisions.
In terms of extracurricular experience: I have represented both my college and school sports teams at a national level.
I participate in a few community/poverty alleviation projects as a volunteer.
My top choices for applying are;
- UNC - Kenan Flager
- Olin
- Cornell
- Duke
- Penn State
- Oxford
However while I feel that the strength of my academics would not be ideal for Harvard , I really have an urge to apply there. I do believe that while my chances are minimal at the end of the day HBS is the best school to go to for an MBA experience. An enriching MBA experience.
Therefore I just wanted advice on my suitability for admissions into the schools I've mentioned and whether I should give applying to HBS a shot.
Thank you

"Target Test Prep is the closest to the official version of the GMAT exam, about 99% accuracy in terms of the quality and quantity of information. The course has excellently created singular sets of focused lessons and tests for every possible topic that one could come across in the official GMAT exam."
"The TTP course maximizes the efficiency of the time you spend studying. It will take time and effort but I could almost guarantee that if you complete the course exactly as it is laid out you will get an amazing score. They also have a very responsive team willing to help with any questions you might have."
"TTP has two things that I think no other test prep company offers: A teaching approach that reinforces understanding and an attitude that will give you the mental preparedness needed to succeed on the test. TTP gives you a deep understanding of the concept you need to know while teaching you how to think."
