How to discard choices??? I do not know why the correct answer is correct

In the past the country of Siduria has relied heavily on imported oil. Siduria recently implemented a program to convert heating systems from oil to natural gas. Siduria already produces more natural gas each year than it burns, and oil production in Sidurian oil fields is increasing at a steady pace. If these trends in fuel production and usage continue, therefore, Sidurian reliance on foreign sources for fuel should decline soon.
Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?
A. In Siduria the rate of fuel consumption is rising no more quickly than the rate of fuel production.
B. Domestic production of natural gas is rising faster than is domestic production of oil in Siduria.
C. No fuel other than natural gas is expected to be used as a replacement for oil in Siduria.
D. Buildings cannot be heated by solar energy rather than by oil or natural gas.
E. All new homes that are being built will have natural-gas-burning heating systems.

OA is A

Found it. If the country produces more oil every year than the year before and importing oil, this means that the country produce more gas than oil, which is why it is converting all heating systems to gas instead of oil.

In C & E be skeptical when you see the words "No" and "All"

D SAYS THAT THERE COULD BE OTHER SOURCES OF ENERGY, DOES NOT WEAKEN THE ARGUMENT, BECAUSE THE ARGUMENT IS PRIMARILY CONCERNED WITH THE SITUATION ABOVE. HENCE, OUT OF SCOPE.

A IS A REPEAT OF THE EVIDENCE ABOVE.

I would go by C.

Option A is already stated in the passage as "If these trends in fuel production and usage continue". That is the reason i feel its shouldnt be the correct one.

Option B, D and E doesn't help me as an assumption to say that Siduria's reliance on foreign sources would decline soon.

Any further thoughts...?

Correct Answer- A. At present Siduria is depended on Foreign sources for Fuel. To counter it, Sirudia is making attempts to produce oil and gas domestically. More Gas reserves are being found and More oil is being produced compared to earlier. But if consumption also increases more than what Sirudia produces, it will be still be reliant on foreign sources...

Based on the GMAT golden rule, the assumptions should be realed in the main question. But here we can get the assumptions in the original statement. Shouldn't we regard A as not an assumption. Please advise. Thanks,
