I'm going through the PowerScore Critical Reasoning bible and have just finished the chapter on Parallel Reasoning questions. I had already completed all the OG12 CR questions prior to reading this book as well as the Kaplan book and have also done a few practice CATs and I don't recall ever seeing such a question. Is it safe to assume that these are VERY rare on the actual GMAT? They seem quite difficult and very time consuming!
Hi joanna,
You're absolutely right the parallel reasoning questions are rare--I can't remember seeing one in the OG, either. However, you shouldn't find them incredibly time consuming! Many wrong answers can be eliminated at a glance just by comparing conclusions. For example, if the main conclusion takes the form of "If A happened, then B also happened", the correct answer must match that--any answer without an "If-Then" structure can instantly be eliminated!
