Word Translation problem

A circus earned $150,000 in ticket revenue by selling 1,800 VIP and Standard tickets. They sold 25% more standard tickets than VIP tickets. If the revenue from Standard tickets represents a third of the total ticket revenue, what is the price of a VIP ticket?

My question is this: When you are translating the "they sold 25% more standard tickets than VIP tickets."

Why is this the proper equation

1800 - x = x + .25x

Rather than

1800- x = x + .25(1800 - x) ???

My approach to this will be:
2/3 $150,000= 1800 VIP ticket
VIP ticket = $1000/18

Total revenue - $ 150000

Revenue VIP ticket - $ 100000 (1/3rd std and 2/3rd VIP)

Std ticket nos. are 25% more, so if VIP is taken as X, then std is 1.25x.

Thus x+1.25x=1800

x= 800

Price of VIP ticket: 100000/800= $ 125

For little more: std tickets are 1000 and price $ 50
