Dreading another trip to the cat clinic, her veterinarian was persuaded to treat her cat at her home, a rather combative two-year-old black male.

i need to understand the application of modifier rules in c)
Jessica persuaded her veterinarian to treat her cat, a rather combative two-year-old black male, at her home

the red phrase seems to refer to Jessica. In order to refer to the cat the phrase should have been started with "which".

The noun nearest to the modifier is "cat" so it modifies cat. By the way, what's the OA? Is it C?
