According to the employers, the new union contract forbade working overtime past regular hours, and those who did not comply to this were severely censured.
A. working overtime past regular hours, and those who did not comply to this
B. working overtime, and those who did so
C. working after hours, and those not compliant
D. overtime, and those who did not comply to this
E. noncompliance with the antiovertime clause

My choice would be between (b) and (d). D is clearer in it's meaning.

What's the OA and the source of this question?

Thanks, G

My pick B

A. working overtime past regular hours, and those who did not comply to this

past regular hours is redundant IMO

B. working overtime, and those who did so

did so is concise and clear, on GMAT do so is a good way of expressing action. do it is wrong.

C. working after hours, and those not compliant

after hours does not convey the same meaning as over time

D. overtime, and those who did not comply to this

this referring to ??

E. noncompliance with the antiovertime clause

sounds altogether different

OA is B but isn’t it wrong in the sense as ‘who did so’ in the sentence implies that the employee who forbade was severely punished

which other option is conveying the meaning that there will be less punishment

Also, who did not comply apparently did work over time. correct.? In other words who did so.
