though reading skill is important, farmiliarity with the history passage, the common passage type on gmat is also important.

where to find this kind of passage, history passage. I see nytimes and the economist containing only scientific and political passages.

This is an excellent question - history articles are harder to find than business or science articles!

Here are a few resources I've recommended to my students. I'd be eager to hear if anyone else has other good resources!

Smithsonian Magazine, History & Archaeology section: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/

Art & Letters Daily - https://www.aldaily.com/

History.com - https://www.history.com/topics - Each of the topics listed has a brief article attached, about RC-length

History Today - https://www.historytoday.com/

I look for the reviews of history events, not the history event articles because those reviews are similar to gmat passages.

pls help/comment. Is my thinking correct?

I understand your concern, and to a certain extent I think you're right. The problem is that no one publishes short, dense, complicated RC-style articles... except on standardized tests! It's hard to find any publication that publishes similar articles. (This is true for science and other topics as well).

That said, I don't think the distinction between reviews (or analysis) of historical events and merely descriptions of historical events is necessarily one that you have to worry about. The skill that you want to build is to quickly and accurately understand complicated material. These kinds of articles can certainly help you to do that.
