A. movies�less than those
B. movies�fewer than have been
C. movies, which is less than those
D. movies, a number lower than the people
E. movies, fewer than the ones

Please explain

Little confused but will go with "A".
Because some where I read this
"we generally use non-count modifiers (less, amount, much, etc.) when we are referring to percentages and fractions, even when those numbers refer to count nouns. The concept behind this is that we are focusing on the number itself, not on the things the number represents".

People are countable and hence we should use fewer.
that elims A C and D

In B, Have is been is wrong

hence E

Can you explain why we can't use have been in B.?
It looked right and parallel to rest of the statement. Why you think it is wrong?

B is wrong because

1) i dont think using present perfect twice in one sentence is correct
2) also, because the present perfect is used twice, the sentence does sound odd

The question was comma or hyphen.

I think first we need to use ,.
so AB are out

why comma:
comma is used when we are talking in continuation to what has already been said.

Hyphen is sometimes used to give examples.

I like fruits - Apples, Oranges and .....

Hyphen is also used for non exxential modifier.

IMO following sentence is ok

Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.



C wrong because which is incorrectly used.
D wrong because number is compared with people

so Ans is E
