652. Since the movie was released seventeen UFOs have been sighted in the state, which is more than had been sighted in the past ten years together.
(A) which is more than had been sighted
(B) more than had been sighted
(C) more than they had sighted
(D) more than had reported sightings
(E) which is more than had reported sightings

I need explanation of OA.

I need explanation of OA.
clearly A and E are out because Which is referring to state.
C is out because UFOS needs to be sighted rather this option suggests that ufos aare sighting..

D is out because this needs to be in past pefect that is we are taking about the UFO sightings before the movie was released, so the correct choice is B. sorry i couldn't give proper explanation. someone, pls give better explanation:)

OA is not at all convincing,

we can only arrive with the correct answer by eliminating the wrong ones

which refers to a noun or a pronoun. In A and E, which is referring to state which is incorrect. Hence A and E are out.

Out of B, C and D.
they has no referent in C

Out of D and B, we can clearly choose B because
* D is awkward
* B gets preference due to parallelism (have been sighted ... had been sighted)
