I am noticing that I can cruise along the practice questions in both the OG and Verbal books (latest versions). However, when I get to the last 10% of the section the questions get quite difficult and I know they are designed to get harder as you progress. I am wondering where this puts me on the topic of scoring. I need to hit a 700!

I am wondering also when one knows through an inner confidence level of when he or she is actually ready. I am getting better everyday but just dont know when I am at the 700 level. I have taken practice exams and scored 610.

thanks for the info in advance!

Yes, you've correctly identified that the last part of each section in OG features the hardest questions.

When are you ready? It's a tough call. One indicator that you could go with is that you can score within the range of your target score on your practice GMATs. Another indicator is that you are absolutely sick of studying or have ran out of time.

My recommendation is to set the date at a time which you think is appropriate and go for it!

when am I ready?

What does it mean when I am scoring well and realising that I was completely clueless in the beginning and have studied wrong and all teh unimportant things untill today. I have a confident feel these days and I have made my weakness (REading comprehension) my strength? If I am scoring very well untill the last 10% of question I wonder where that puts me?

I'm not sure I understand your question fully. But I say take a few practice tests to gauge your performance right now. I think these are the best indicators of your "readiness"...

Yes, you can't use books to gauge your readiness b/c the adaptive nature of the test changes pretty much everything. You need to take a test (ideally GMATPrep) and see what score you get.
