GMAT Prep1 - 700. Need advice

Dear All,

I just finished taking GMAT Prep 1 and got a score of 700(49Q and 37V). Honestly I am disappointed. The test taking experience was rather frustrating as I could not answer some of the questions confidently.

Perhaps the most telling of the test was that I got all RC questions right but one. SC and CR were 2 areas that really screwed me up badly. I am regularly tracking my reprformance in og12 error tracking tool. Accuracy levels in CR and SC are 86% and 81% respectively. Yet in the prep test, my performance in these 2 areas was dismal.

I have my exam scheduled on Sep 1st. Could you please advise me on how to go about takling the problems I am facing in SC and CR(exam date is just 19 days away!)?

Have you done the Manhattan SC book? If so have you gone through it a couple times and made notes? Reviewing this book, doing hundreds of SC problems, and then reviewing my mistakes brought my SC percentage up drastically.

I think the score is very good, especially if it's your first timed test. If you feel that you have adequately reviewed the material, you should consider working on timing and strategy. Make sure you use the right amount of time for each question, that you approach them efficiently and that you remain calm and focused throughout the test.

Agreed. I think I lost focus when I was answering Verbal questions. Will start practising timed tests. Guess that will help a bit.
