A certain business produced n rakes each month from nov thro feb and ships x/2 rakes at the beginning of each month from March thro oct . The business paid no storage costs for racks from Nov - Feb , but paid $ 0.10 per rake each month from March through October that has not been shipped. In terms of x , what was the total ampunt storage cost in dollar that the business paid for rakesmfor the 12 months.

3.1.40x
4.1.60x
5. 3.20 x

I think there is a typo in the question. It should be 'x' instead of 'n' rakes per month.

Assuming 'x' rakes per month business makes 4x rakes from Nov to Feb.

After shipping x/2 rakes in March 4x - x/2 = 7x/2 rakes are left. Rent is 0.10 * (3.5x).

In April 3.5x - 0.5x = 3x rakes will be left . Rent 0.10 * 3x.

From the above u can deduce that Rent is 0.10[3.5x + 3x + 2.5x + 2x+1.5x + x + 0.5x] = .10 * 14x = 1.40x

If you can not post question properly, How can you expect people to answer it, i have wasted more than 10 minutes in your question because i was not getting the right answer. In the end i realize that the question is wrong, How can you do this ?

Oops,sorry all . Even I realized it just now .I was actually trying to figure out an answer for it but no luck . Probably the question from the source itself is wrong(a typo). Anyways , thanks for pointing it out.
