This question is regarding the 5 schools that you can send your scores to for free.
I am preparing to take the GMAT in first week of August.

Do I need to inform the schools I will be sending the scores to in advance?
If so, what is the procedure?

Thanks in advance

dipbha,

No, you do not need to inform the schools. The schools will be able to view your score report once it is made official.

How it usually works:

Step 1. Write GMAT and select 5 schools which should receive the scores
Step 2. Submit application to the schools. You will be required to submit your GMAT Appointment Number
Step 3. Upon receiving your application, the school will verify your GMAT score online. Note that the school will only be able to do so if you had selected them as one of the five schools to receive the score OR if you had later ordered the score report to be sent to that school.

Drifting a bit from the topic.... Ideally, the five schools that you put down should consists of 2 dream schools, 2 reach schools and 1 safety school. Five applications per admission year is optimum. Anything over 5 could leave you flustered and hurried, while anything less than 5 would be risky and would put you under immense pressure.

Hope this helps :)

My pleasure, dipbha. Incidentally, when do you plan on taking up the test?
