by adi » Fri Mar 14, 2008 7:43 pm
In May, Xiang sold 15 used cars. For these 15 cars, the range of the selling prices was $15,000 and the lowest selling price was $4,500. In June, Xiang sold 10 cars. For these 10 cars, the range of the selling prices was $16,500 and the lowest selling price was $6,100. What was the range of the selling prices of the 25 used cars sold by Xiang in May and June?

A) $15,600
B) $15,750
C) $16,820
D) $18,100
E) $19,200

Correct answer should be D.

Hey there,

This problem solved by finding highest price, we are given lowest prices and the range.

Highest Price in May [15000+4500] = 19500

Highest Price in June [16500+6100] = 22600

Now just pick the hghest and lowest prices and take the difference.
[22600 - 4500] = 18100

Hope this helps!
