I took 2 cats today

- kaplan online CAT 4 - comes with Kaplan premier book's online companion
There are many posts on how "tough" Kaplan is
But the cat, especially the quant was quite easy and the Kaplan algorithm was not so harsh
Ended with a 750. Q 55?? V 41

- free Princeton cat - 710 Q 48 V 41
There are again posts detailing how much "easier" Princeton quant is
But some of the questions I found on the quant section were quite challenging

Has anyone taken these tests recently?
What was your experience? Have these test prep companies re-worked their offerings recently to counter popular perception?
Kaplan trying to move away from "high diff low scores" label and Princeton trying to make it's quant harder?

Also how well do your actual GMAT scores compare to these tests if you took the GMAT recently after taking Kaplan, Princeton CATs. Thanks.

The earlier Kaplan algo and questions were quite tough, in 2010 kaplan improved its algo and questions to give a more realistic picture. Try to get the old kaplan CD from a past student or something. You will really love it!!

thanks arora007... i had that cd but cant seem to find it... i guess not much of a loss there

but i dont think kaplan is 'realistic' now - the quant section is not at par... though verbal is good and for quant the alog is still handing out points out of 60 when the GMAC has frozen quant scores at max 51...

princeton cat i feel was quite good... not sure what others feel about this...

would be great to know if you have taken these tests recently... Thanks...
