Hi,

I gave GMAT first time last week and lost the battle!!

The surprising element was my real GMAT score was less than my minimum practice score.

GMAT Prep1 Attempt 1: 650 (w/o any preparation)
Attempt 2: 670
GMAT Prep2 : 690 (real test condition)
MGMAT 1: 710
MGMAT 2: 730

GMAT 610 (Afet 2+ months' 3 hrs a day preparation)

I am still not able to figure out what made me to succumb to the GMAT.

My target is 700+.

Will I be able to achieve this score anyday?

Also, I have finished almost all of the material that I have.
I am planning to start prep again but do not know how and what to begin with.

Experts: you might have already seen so many cases like this. Please help me.

Thanks

JS

I have recently read so many reviews where people claim that their scores are varying a lot from GMATPrep tests. What I feel from these scores is that the GMAT has made their tests lot tougher especially in Verbal section. Many of sentence correction questions hardly fit on general rules and its more about intent.

I am sorry John but would you brief us about the difficulty levels that you saw on the actual test than any of Kaplan, MGMAT etc mocks. That will help Experts to figure out too..

Here's a question for you. If I ask you what's wrong with certain answers in the OG guide, would you be able to tell me exactly why they are wrong? If not, I suggest you to really invest the time to re-examine the OG.

Sumanr84,

I believe you are 100% correct.

I was primarily dependent on OG12 and GMAT Prep in my preparation.Yes, I found SC tougher than what I practiced from OG12 and GMAT Prep.

CR and RC were OK.

Quant was also OK.

Uwhusky,

As far as OG12 and Verbal and Quant review are concerned, I had practiced "Why a choice is correct and Why other four are wrong".

Thanks Sumar84, you helped me in catching one weak point SENTENCE CORRECTION, yes they were TOUGHER.

I am still figuring out other areas of my failure.

Thanks
