A six-sided die has 3 of its faces painted red and the other 3 faces painted yellow. The dice
was rolled several times. How many times did the red color face up?
(1)The dice was rolled 20 times.
(2)The number of times the red color faced up was 8 more than the number of times the yellow color faced up.

(A)Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.
(B)Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.
(C)BOTH statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are sufficient to answer the question asked, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
(D)EACH statement ALONE is sufficient to answer the question asked.
(E)Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient to answer the question asked, and additional data are needed.

Hi,
From(1):
if the dice is rolled 20 times, we have no idea how many times it shows red
Not sufficient
From(2):
If the dice shows yellow n times, then it shows red (n+8) times
Not sufficient

Both(1) and (2):
The dice will show either yellow or red.
So, n+ (n+8) = 20 =>n=6
So, it shows red 14 times.
Sufficient

Hence, C

The question seems like a probability question.but it is a simple simultaneous equation
