option 3 is clearly an incorrect construction because of redundancy - hopefully and might indicate the same idea.
option 1 and 2 could be correct dependent on the context of the rest of the sentence.
generally i have found that hopefully itself is a weak word to use in gmat land.
using hopefully

But what GMAT likes....????Domnu wrote:People usually use "it is hoped" instead of "hopefully."
Is it incorrect to use hopefully in GMAT or there are some specific cases in which hopefully is correct too.

Yeah, that's what I mean. The GMAT prefers "it is hoped" to "hopefully." I've encountered such questions in the past few days.goelmohit2002 wrote:But what GMAT likes....????Domnu wrote:People usually use "it is hoped" instead of "hopefully."can someone please tell....?

Thanks.
Does it mean that "Hopefully is always wrong" in GMAT ? or there are any exceptions....Basically which one to follow when Hopefully is there in the option
1. Kick it out immediately.
2. Look for other errors and in case of tie then only use Hopefully to eliminate.

Well generally, I would always go with option #2 regardless of what is written (unless there is some blatant error). But for the most part, use #1.goelmohit2002 wrote:Thanks.
