Advertisement: When your car's engine is running at its normal operating temperature, any major brand of motor oil will protect it about as well as Tuff does. When the engine is cold, it is a different story: Tuff motor oil flows better at lower temperatures than its major competitors do. Conclusion: If you want maximum protection, use Tuff motor oil.
Premise: Tuff offers no better normal temp-protection than its competitors, but it offers better cold protection.

So we know that Tuff is roughly equivalent to its competitors at normal temperatures. We know it's better at cold temperatures? Well, what about hotter temps? If Tuff works great in the cold, but can't protect the engine against overheating, it's clearly not going to confer the best protection. This is what A addresses.
