Should I postpone my G Day - 590?

by GMAT680 » Mon Mar 22, 2010 5:39 pm
Hello All,

I have been practicing since Beginning of FEBRUARY and I had an IDEA of what GMAT is before then. I am scheduled to take it on April 10. My MGMAT and GMAT Prep Results never crossed 600. The maximum I was able to score is 500 (Q30, V29) and my last two scores are 590(Q43,V29).

June 1 is the application deadline for my school and I want to score 680. Should I postpone the exam date to May 20 and practice for two more months or should use my remaining 18 days wisely and improve my score?

Thanks
G680

What score are you targeting? Are you just trying to get over 600 or are you targeting a 650-700 score? If it is the latter, then in my opinion, you may think to postpone the exam and work more on the basics. If you just want to get over 600, then i guess it is wise to use the remaining days fruitfully.

Hi,

Just to add an extra alternative - If you spare the $, you could try attempting it twice - Once in April and the second time in May. This would give you plenty of time to practice, two shots at the real thing, and enough time to write up your application for the June deadline.

All the best,
Jas

in my opinion postponing the date is a wise idea . since you are nowhere near to your target score , you may not be able to score the same in actuals unless some miracle happens and in gmat miracle never happens.
better devote some more time to your preparation and revise the prep tests and work on your weak areas.....
