by aimhigh715 » Sun Dec 09, 2007 12:10 pm
On the number line distance between A and C is 5. and Distance between B and C is 20. Does C lie between A and B?

1) Distance between A and B is 25.

2) A lies to left of B.

OA: A

I put D. Why isn't B sufficient as well? Thanks

Statement B leaves a couple possibilities:

C-5-A-15-B
or
A-5-C-20-B

In both cases A lies to the left of B, but C can be located in between or outside of A and B.
