Dear olika,
Welcome to the US! To answer your questions,
1) Will the fact that I am presently not employed affect my chances to be admitted?
Possibly. You have a legitimate reason as you are probably on a spouse visa which does not allow you to work. What you might consider doing in the interim is finding a volunteer role that allows you to do professional work but does not cause you visa problems.
2) How do you evaluate my chances to be admitted to schools like the Fisher College of Business (OSU) and the Wisconsin School of Business? I keep worrying about my GMAT score that is lower than the average for both schools.
I think you have a chance at these schools. Your GMAT is low but there are interesting aspects to your profile that you should be able to leverage to your advantage.
3) Could you please advise me on the schools that I would be competitive for?
Since I'm not sure what programs are feasible geographically, I can't recommend any by name. I would suggest identifying schools with GMAT averages in the 600-670 range as possibilities for you.
Best of luck,
Lisa
