Hello
I am starting the application/studying for the GMAT process just now, and am planning to actually apply to schools in 2012 or so. I am looking at USC and UCLA Part-Time programs. However, I feel like I might be in trouble. Some background on me:
I graduated from UC San Diego with a BS in Management Science and Minor in Russian Literature, but had a less than stellar gpa (2.56. I always did well in math, but not in econ or finance) I thought I wanted to go into investment banking. However, due to a bad economy and sheer luck, I ended up working in the entertainment industry and absolutely loved it. I started out as an intern in Paramount and have worked myself up to Casting for Fox Animation. However, I want to produce and feel like a higher degree would be beneficial.
My questions are:
1) To make up for the 2.56 gpa, i went to UCLA Extension and completed 2 certificate programs (52 units) in Business and Management in Entertainment and Producing with a 3.8 GPA. Does that count as an alternate transcript? Or should I take some Finance classes? And how many?
2) Would becoming PMP (project management) certified be beneficial?
3) Do I stand a chance?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Larisa
