Ex 1: I have a dollar in my pocket.
EX 2: He talks.
Ex 3: They talk.
I always get confused when I read that singular subjects have singular verbs and vice versa. It sounds contrary as shown in the above examples.
I guess the most important thing to remember is that verbs do not form their plurals by adding an s as nouns do. In order to determine which verb is singular and which one is plural, think of which verb you would use with he or she and which verb you would use with they.
