Considering taking up the GMAT!!

by ilovechandler » Thu Jan 08, 2009 4:22 am
Hi guys

Do you think one can score high on the GMAT given a weak Math background? Verbal is really strong, but Math - dont remember a thing from high school! How much work will it really take and is it true that GMAT Math is easier than that of CAT? B-)

Please advice on the first step and thereon!!

Thanks

GMAT quant is interesting in that the math skills required are really pretty basic... nothing beyond simple algebra is necessary. I majored in history in college and hadn't taken math since high school, either, when I took the GMAT.... and things worked out fine!

The quant section REALLY tests your problem solving abilities. Yes, you need to know how to do some math too, but mental flexibility and creativity when faced with a problem are much more important skills.

You can do it!
