IMO A

i guess C and D has modifier problems

C-- According to its proponents is way beyond proposed style
Moreover, what it is reffering to?

D- wordy; its skimming is wrong

B and E have ambiguous references / misplaced modifiers. So A, C ,D.

C & D:: "because of its skimming" / "with it skimming" or shld it be "by skimming".

A looks most appropriate with the options given.

interesting. This question is either a badly worded one or a brilliant one!

I go for A although I don't like any of the answer choices.
