You should really retake your GMAT and aim for a 710+ to improve your chances. Is your university an NIT-equivalent (which would help)?

Fuqua and Ross will be difficult, but the other schools are within striking distance with your present profile, especially with your international experience. But that said, a higher GMAT score, would help your chances at these schools as well.

Best of luck,

Thanks Michael for you quick reply.
My university is not an NIT equivalent but among the best in the state.

I have another query.
I would be able to get a recommendation from a Ross alumnus who was my supervisor at work. Would this improve my chances and get me within striking distance at Ross?

Hi Nishanth,

I would also recommend retaking the GMAT and target a score above 720 to have a good shot at Ross/Fuqua. For others, your profile is competitive. So you can go ahead and apply to these schools.

As for the reco from a Ross alum, he will anyway write your recommendation as your supervisor. There might be a bit of bias in the way he writes it for Ross, but for your candidature, it would not make much of a difference.

Nishanth,

I would never tell anybody they have no chance. That said do your best to improve your GMAT score to give you are stronger chance. A sub-700 score from an Indian applicant who does not hail from an IIT or NIT equivalent is a difficult proposition to Ross. Fuqua might be marginally easier but I would still recommend you trying to get a higher score.

Good luck,
