Gmat Score Reporting

by vineetbatra » Wed Feb 03, 2010 5:50 pm
Hello,

I have a test in a few days and have a few questions on how to send the GMAT Scores to the business schools.

1. what information do I need to provide to report the scores, and how to get the inforamtion?

2. Is there any drawback in reporting the score at the time of the test?

3. When do I get to enter the information, before or after the test?

4. If I do not get a desirable score, do I have the option of not sending the score after I see it?

5. If there is any other thing I need to know about sending the scores then please le t me know.

Thanks,

VIneet

1. They allow you to search for the schools/programs, you just need to know the state where they are located.

2. No drawbacks, its better to send them at the time of the test rather than to pay 30 dollars per school later.

3. You enter the info before the test

4. Nope, the moment you accept the score, it is sent

5. Just make sure you know the state of the program that you want to send the score to. For example, know that HBS is in Massachusetts

Thanks for the info guys.

Do they give an option to select Institutes outside the US?

Thanks Osirus . But I read in one book that if you do not select any school at the start of the GMAT , it won't get reported to any school at the end of the test , also incase you get a bad score the schools will not get to know about it and also the B- Schools will not get to know that you took the attempt i.e they will never know in your future score report that you took the attempt in the past. That is a great question Aman, I was just surfing and found out on a website that the GMAT transcript has only 3 scores, so if I don't report and take the test 4 times then my script will show the 2nd, 3rd and 4th score. But not the first score.

Let me know what you guys think.

do we get to first see our scores and later allowed to send it ?
or w/o even seeing my score i have to send it - provided i choose to send it to 5 B schools and not send it later on individually with a fee of 28$ to each B school i select.

you choose which schools you'd like to have the scores sent to BEFORE knowing your score...

you choose before the exam.. and your score is reported at the end of the exam...
