Kaplan 800

by MichelleW1982 » Mon Mar 09, 2009 5:08 pm
I did OG questions...and thought they were ok, but got more difficult toward the end..

Then I started reading Kaplan 800 book. The passages there are sooooo difficult for me...especially the science ones. I am not a native english speaker. It is just very demoralizing working on these passages.

My question is, if i want to get a 700 score (assume I do just alright in other parts)....what kind of level I need to get in Reading? For Kaplan 800, do I need to get 80% correct with 8-9 min on each passage?

Right now, I am getting above 80% correct on OG questions. For kaplan, I am getting 50% correct with 10+ mins on each passage :(

Please advice.

don't worry kaplan rc's are tougher that real gmat..you should do princeton rc's..also focus on first four questions for every RC bcoz GMAT will not throw you more than 4 question on a single RC...so for four questions, you can spend 8- 10 minutes provided you are going bit fast on SC's.On gmat if you see four RC chances are that you would encounter three short RC's and one long RC's...so you easily mange your time...just keep on practising.

I agree. Kaplan RC is very tough. I also see a great difference in my hit rates: Kaplan vs. OG. According to many sources, OG is closer to the real thing
