Took GMATPrep Practice 2nd Time

Hello,

I took the Full GMAT prep 1 test again today and scored a 640(Q47 and V31, IR-8). I was hoping to see many repetitive questions but there were only 2-3 reptitions. I even missed 2 questions on the quantitative section but still got a Q47. what I conclude that if the remaining two were correct I would have increased my quantitative score.Over all, I am happy with my improvement in the quantitative section. Kudos to Brent for making such nice explanatory videos, those really helped.

Now I have to work upon my verbal skills. GAME ON !!

Hi shubh425,

Practice CAT scores are only as realistic as YOU make the process of taking the CAT. The more the 'CAT-taking event' deviates from what you'll face on Test Day, the more likely the score is to be inaccurate (and in most cases, that means "inflated").

Here are some details to consider: When you took this CAT...
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take it at home?
3) Did you take it at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you do ANYTHING during this CAT that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, listen to music, etc.)?

As you continue to study, you should make sure to put an emphasis on making each new CAT as realistic an experience as possible. The score results from each CAT are essential to defining the areas that you need to work on, so you need that data to be ass accurate as possible.

Hello Rich,

1) I took the full test this time (AWA, IR, Quant and Verbal)
2) I took it the same time as my test date
3) Yes I took it at my home
4) No interruptions and no elongated breaks(>8 mins)

Sounds like you're in great shape! If possible, take the newer GMATPrep tests as well, as the questions there seem to be more indicative of the exam today. The newer ones also have fewer questions that have been copied by other test providers, so you're less likely to have seen the template for any given question before.
