Each day Linda spends 6 hours at her babysitting job, for which she is paid $15.00 per hour. In addition, Linda spends a total of 1.5 hours each day, for which she is not paid, traveling to and from the job. What is Linda's hourly rate of pay for the total amount of time that she spends each day at her babysitting job and traveling to and from that job?

A. $7.50
B. $9.00
C. $10.00
D. $10.75
E. $12.00

The OA is E.

If she spends 6 hours at $15.00 per hour, then the total money that she gains for this job will be, 6 * 15 = $90.

Also, she spends 1.5 additional hours traveling, for which she is not paid, then the total time that she invests in this job will be, 6 + 1.5 = 7.5 hours per day, right?

Now, can I say that her hourly rate will be, 90 / 7.5 = $12?

She spends 7.5 hours each day of job, but she only earns 6*15=$90 each day.

Then, her rate per day is 90 / 7.5 = $12.

Linda is paid 6 x 15 = 90 dollars.

Her rate, per hour, is 90/7.5 = 12 dollars.
