anything wrong with B in particular ?
it fits the construction 'if X happens , Y will happen' , isn't it ?

Is it incorrect to say :
the support of political action committees is absent ?

I don't know why exactly B is wrong.
The if structure is not wrong.
However I don't find faults with E, but I am a bit suspicious to it. I assume that "without the support of political action committees" modifies "public office" and I think it might not be the intended meaning.
